So many of you are probably gamers, and probably play on the Xbox 360, and may have read some of my previous articles about Xbox portable rumors or rumors about natal.

With the life of the Xbox 360 coming to an end in a few years there are rumors of the possibility of a new console. Some have speculated the name of this new console to be the Xbox 720, the double of 360.

While these rumors may or not be true, Microsoft is trying to incorporate the new Project Natal into the gaming experience to get gamers involved much the same way that the Nintendo Wii does.

One article I read has said that Microsoft will simply upgrade the 360 to a more robust version which will include the sensor device for Project Natal use. While gamers can just buy the sensor device alone, new gamers will be able to buy the new and better console as well.

I am not sure about this whole thing, but am curious to see what decision Microsoft will make.

What do you think Microsoft will do? Release a totally new system or upgrade the pre existing console?

So about a month ago or so, maybe even longer, I notice how Apple has no longer put the MacBook unibody or aluminum up for sale on their website anymore. Now everything with the unibody, is a MacBook Pro. You may be thinking “what difference does this make” or “why is this important”.

Well some of you may think of it as negligible, but it is interesting to see how Apple markets its products. A product earlier in the year that is so new and revolutionary named as a MacBook starting at $1299 is now marked as a MacBook “Pro” for $100 less.

Is Apple trying to sell their more advanced line of MacBook Pros to consumers, or is it just simply making the aluminum unibody only available to the Pro version of the MacBooks. It seems interesting because Apple who was advertising the white MacBooks as last year’s models soon to be diminished are now its only MacBook product.

What are your thoughts? Should only the MacBook Pro name be on the aluminum unibodies?

Some of you may have heard the news or seen a demonstration video about Microsoft’s new motion sensor program for Xbox 360 that is deemed to blow the Wii away. Named Project Natal, this new program for the Xbox 360 takes the motion sensor experience to a whole new level: the use of our own bodies to control the game without the need to hold something such as the Wii controller.

Using cameras, and a microphone integrated in a sensor bar that mounts on your tv similar to Nintendo Wii’s, Project Natal can pick up on your voice, movement, and is even capable of indentifying different players that are playing.

Not only will Project Natal meet the needs of simpler based game players like the Nintendo Wii, but it will also be integrated into more graphically intense games such as Halo and Call of Duty in the near future. This may introduce a new perspective of gaming which will engage the hard core gamer on a whole new level.

Do you think Project Natal will be a great sucess? Tell me why or why not…

Recently I had been thinking about Nintendo’s built in wireless receivers and why they are not more integrated into online gaming for games on the Wii. If only Microsoft’s Xbox 360 had a pre-installed wireless adapter it would make things a lot easier. The Wii also utilizes a built in ethernet port similar to the 360’s one.

Recently, Nintendo has been releasing games that make use of the internet capability and built in wireless adapter. One such game is Animal Crossing City Folk. In this game, players are given the option to add up to three other real users to add to their town. This gives them the capability of visiting your own town and speaking to you through Wii Speak much like the Xbox Live speaking system. Also, you can visit your friends’ towns as well, interacting with real users, gaining an online experience through gaming on the Wii.

Finally, I can see more games being released like this, but it will take a while for more options to be readily available such as online gaming against friends, and an online community with live games available to play in.

What do you think?

Will Nintendo release more games for the Wii utilizing Wi-Fi?

Both companies, Microsoft and Apple, have announced their new operating systems: Windows 7 and Mac OS X Snow Leopard. With both companies competing for sales, Apple has proved to be a clear winner with OS X Leapord over Microsoft’s disappointing Windows Vista. With the release of a new operating system from both companies, it will be interesting to see which one is a bigger breakthrough.

Microsoft has claimed that they will be releasing Windows 7 in the fall of 2009 to early 2010. Could this be yet another premature release by Microsoft of an operating system that is clearly not ready for the market yet? Microsoft doesn’t think so because they have already released a beta version, and plan to release seven versions of Windows 7. Some features include a totally new taskbar, jump lists, Internet Explorer 8, and better device management.

Apple on the other hand, has given no definite date or suspected release, but has simply said that OS X Snow Leopard will ship in “about a year”. Apple claims that Snow Leopard will build on the innovations of Leopard. In addition Snow Leopard will decrease the footprint of Mac OS X, increasing efficiency.

Will both of these releases boost each company’s sales while revolutionizing their operating systems?

Which release do you think will be a bigger breakthrough?

Windows 7 or Mac OS X Snow Leopard?

I’m sure many of you are familiar with the Mac mini, Apple’s lower end mini desktop, which offers affordability yet still some power and versatility. Well, rumors have been spreading around as to its next release since it has not been updated for some time now. Apple’s last version of the Mac mini came out in 2007, and since then, a new Mac mini has been nowhere to be seen. Many speculated that there would be a new release at MacWorld 2009, but there was no talk of even an upcoming release of a Mac mini in Phil Schiller’s Keynote Address. This disappointed some, and confused others. It might be possible that new products will return with the return of Steve Jobs, but this is also unsure. With 2009 being the first year in six years for sales to decrease, Apple needs something new to reboost its sales. Many consumers are waiting to buy based on the rumors of new Mac minis and iMacs on the way. Finally, I think Apple is well overdue to update their Mac minis, and if they are really in need of sales, they should update their iMac as well.

What are your thoughts?

Should Apple release a new Mac mini and or iMacs?

Recently, a friend informed me about RapidWeaver… a powerful web design tool for Macs. He started using this on his website, and I couldn’t believe how stunning his website looked. RapidWeaver is a new software made exclusively for Macs running OS X Leopard 10.5. RapidWeaver contains over 40 unbelievable themes to choose from. There are two versions of RapidWeaver including the free version and full $79 version. The free version is the same as the full, but limits you to only three pages on your website, whereas the full version allows you as many pages as you need. Both can be downloaded on RapidWeaver’s website.

RapidWeaver is powered by WebKit, the same engine running Safari. RapidWeaver’s ease of use, and amazing design templates and themes make it an excellent choice for website builders of all skill levels. It uses a special interface making the change from page to page almost instantaneous. In addition, RapidWeaver makes publishing your website easy by supporting almost every webhost around utilizing built in support for FTP. Also, the RapidWeaver website offers its own hosting packages if you do not have your own already. Bottom line: RapidWeaver proves to be a great web site design tool that makes publishing your website to any webhost a breeze.

Well today Bitstrips launched version 1.1, their beta version, opening up their site to the public. I made an account, and the fun began. I first created my avatar which took a little while, but I was able to create a funny avatar which looked somewhat like me. Then I created a couple characters, and made a strip.

You can also create your own series, either give comics laughs or groans, add friends, comment on comics, and even favorite them. Try it out… see if you like it.

On Sunday, the technician from AT&T came to install U-Verse in our home. He got there around 9 a.m and finished around 3:30. He first began his installation by rewiring many aspects of our house. From the basement he accessed the splitter to which he made modifications to fit AT&T’s proper wiring.

After he finished this, he installed the new Gateway modem to our computer which is connected to downstairs, and controls everything in the house from internet, to t.v, to the phones. Finally, he installed all three digital boxes to each t.v, and the special bigger DVR box to our t.v in the basement. Everything was installed smoothly, and set up and ready to go!

My first impression when I turned on the t.v was “Wow! what great quality!” The picture is really stunning, and when on HD channels, the picture is just phenomenal. The channels changed instantly, I can see what programs are on other channels and watch that channel in a small box at the bottom while still on another main channel. The guide is great, there is a complete video store with new releases, and all kinds of movies that you can buy right on your tv. Did I mention that the t.vs are connected to the internet through the gateway modem and you can even play yahoo games on your t.v! After that I got onto my computer, and really noticed no difference with the internet. Everything seemed as fast as Optimum, and even at some times seemed more responsive, and quicker. Overall I am very happy with AT&T U-Verse, and I think that if AT&T is made available in your area you should take a look at it because they really have a great service to offer.

I know your probably thinking again “these prizes probably take forever to save up for!”. Well not necessarily true, although they do take a lot of points to redeem, the points add up quickly if you enter codes often.

I like to collect codes from various places such as basketball games, off my own drinks, from fridge packs of cans, and a lot from school. I don’t really use it to get things I need or really want or must have, but more of a way to get something really cool for free every once and a while. So if you drink a lot of coke, or are in places where a lot of coke caps can be found, I suggest you sign up for MyCokeRewards and start entering codes and winning some cool stuff!

Check it out at www.mycokerewards.com

VMware and Parallels for Virtual Machines

It doesn't matter if you're running on Windows or Mac OS X - every power user needs either Parallels or VMware (or both). There's never been an easier way to test software without destroying your primary operating system's stability. Think of how many times you wish you could press a 'reverse' button on your computer. Plus, there's no easier way to try new Linux distributions - see what all the fuss is about. Run Windows in OS X, run Linux in Windows, but the best way to do either is with VMware and/or Parallels.
