When it comes to computer security, I always go through certain measures when downloading something from an unknown source. Especially if it’s an executable. VirusTotal is a free file scanning website.

Not really much to say, it scans one file with a bunch of virus scanners and gives you the detailed results in an organized manner that’s very useful. Especially if you’re an uploader. You can simply screenshot the results and upload them with your file to the site you’re posting it. Could be easier but hey what can you say when it’s a free service.

This site can’t replace an active virus scanner, it can however give you results if you think your virus scanner has out of date definitions or maybe your virus trial has ended and maybe you need something temporarily. It’s a good easy to use service. Thank you and have a nice day.
