I was driving in the car the other day and the kids were watching “Chicken Little” on DVD. They were watching the scene where an animal is getting into a trash can. My oldest son kept calling it a badger. He was saying that the badger was getting into the trash and that badgers do that a lot. I couldn’t see what they were watching, but I suggested that maybe it was a raccoon, since I know that raccoons like to get into garbage cans. He said that I was right and that it was a raccoon. My youngest son (age 4) said:

“Yeah, that badger is a raccoon!”

His comment was very politically correct so that neither I (his mom) nor his big brother came off looking bad. This way both of us seemed to be right and no one could be offended.

So maybe he will grow up to be a politician someday, or a used car salesman.
