Cats, Cats

Why don’t someone invent something to keep cats from tearing up Christmas trees? I mean, maybe something star warsish, like an invisible gate that shock the little critter when it gets too close to the tree, how’s that?
Of course, I would never do that, but one of our cats fell in love with the tree this year, so much that she tore everything off of it, and line it up neatly in the floor as we slept. Anyone else having the same problems?

I had young kittens that were tearing up my tree with heirloom ornaments.
I gave up for that year and replace the tree with a white artificial, found metalic plastic balls and garland from Target, Dollar Store and Home Depot. Instead of hooks, I wired the ornaments on with florist wire. To light the tree, I replaced the lights with a old fashion color wheel and a string of white light at the core of the tree where it was less tempting.
Best of all if you choose tree size you can move through the house and have a place to store it up, you’ll have an instant tree next year.
My “disco” tree was the hit of the season and the cats weren’t able to
wreck it.
Alternative, My friends with a condo with a balcony with a picture window, Set their tree outside for the neighbors and the cats to watch but not touch.
happy holidays
