  Against the Texans, Crabtree flashed much of the skill and big play ability the 49ers were hoping for when they picked him 10th overall. Crabtree is expected to be on the field a lot from here on out, making him an intriguing play in deeper fantasy leagues.

• Vernon Davis delivers in a big way in 49ers loss October 28, 2009
  As the season has progressed, Davis has seen his fantasy status go from former 1st round disappointment to elite tight end. Among tight ends, Davis ranks near the top in almost every statistical category. Looking towards the future, his value should only increase with Alex Smith taking the snaps from here on out.

• Glen Coffee is virtually invisible in 49ers loss October 28, 2009
  With Frank Gore back, Coffee's game action was severely limited. More so, with Alex Smith behind center, it appears the 49ers are more inclined to air the ball out, further diminishing Coffee's value.

• Frank Gore is ineffective in his return against the Texans October 28, 2009
  Gore's performance against the Texans was most definitely a disappointment to all of his owners who were anxiously anticipating his return against a suspect Texans defense. Gore's next game is against the Colts and their 19th ranked run defense. Unless Gore is still feeling the effects of his injuries, owners should expect a much improved performance.

• Alex Smith is phenomenal in relief of struggling Shaun Hill October 28, 2009
  Against the Texans, Smith played the way the 49ers envisioned he would when they drafted him 1st overall in 2005. Head Coach Mike Singletary has stated that he doesn't plan on switching back and forth with his quarterbacks, meaning that unless something happens to Smith, the job is his to lose.

• Shaun Hill benched in 49ers loss to the Texans October 28, 2009
  Hill's benching may be less about his poor play and more about the inconsistency of the 49ers offensive line. Nevertheless, Alex Smith came in and lit it up, throwing for 3 touchdown passes and 206 yards. Head Coach Mike Singletary was adamant in saying he wasn't looking to play Russian roulette with his quarterbacks so unless something happens to Smith it appears that Hill's tenure as the 49ers starting quarterback has ended.

• Chris Wells to get more carries October 28, 2009
  Chris Wells continues to build confidence with the Arizona Cardinals in rushing. He needs to secure the ball however. But at this point, Wells will certainly get the majority of the carries as he is continutes to out perform Hightower. Wells needs to continue to develop as a pass blocker on passing downs however, as Hightower remains the primary back in passing situations. While Wells is not the starting running back at this point, his continued development increases his fantasy value and should be a pick up at this point if avialable on your waiver wire as Hightower's fantasy value continues to decline particularly in non-ppr formats.

  Go ahead and cut LJ for a player that could help your fantasy team down the stretch.

• Titans could be short on running backs this week October 28, 2009
  Titans coach Jeff Fisher said Ringer may have injured his back. This would mean, most likely, Javon will be out for this Sunday's game against the Jaguars.

• Titans to name quarterback starter on Thursday October 28, 2009
  Kerry Collins or Vince Young? Everyone seems to have arguements for each guy. Fisher seems resistant to make the change, but owner Bud Adams wants Young starting the rest of the year. If Collins is out and Young is in, Vince could be worth a pick up in your league.

  Both Detroit Lions' star players, Stafford and Johnson, continue to nurse their knee injuries. It is not certain if either of them will be available for Week 8 against the Rams. Check back here for updates throughout the week.

  Trufant a pro bowl selection in 2007 will be a welcome addition to the Seattle secondary. A much needed addition to cover Miles Austin and his deep routes for the Cowboys.

  Not a big surprise really, Jones probably won't be back at all this year. But, a 75% Jones would be better than what they got right now at left tackle.

• Larry Johnson to be released? October 28, 2009
  He is someone that could be safely dropped in leagues moving forward. If he isn't cut he will most likely be suspended with Jamaal Charles getting the brunt of the touches for the remainder of the 2009 season.

  The Colts' beat reporter said that Wayne looked downcast in the locker room after the game. If he's on your roster, be sure to have a backup plan this week.
