14 Days, 19 pounds - Not a bad start to the new year

  • No Related Post

Two weeks into the new year and 19 pounds lighter.  I know a lot of it is water weight but who cares?  A good jump start is critical in the early days to gain momentum for the inevitable hard times. I actually had three days when I didn’t go to the gym or I am certain I’d have lost more. My workout partner suddenly became invisible…I guess it didn’t take him long to lose his motivation.

I have much bigger plans that revolve around a much smaller me.  Right now the things revolving around me look like moons and that just isn’t what I had in mind when I said I wanted to be the center of attention.  I am struggling right now with some chest congestion that makes it hard to draw a deep breath, but still battled through 30 minutes of cardio last night.

It is too easy to find reasons why we can’t do something. I know, I’ve used them all and made up a few extras, but I am in for a complete transformation this year.  The Body For Life program is solid, and once you get used to eating every two to three hours it is actually quite satisfying.

I also am taking part in a Biggest Loser contest with a bunch of guys from my favorite cigar forum.  I plan to win, even though the guy who started the contest is ahead of me right now. He is also suffering from light-headedness and other symptoms that tell me he will have a bounce back to weight gain, because what he is doing (1500 calories a day) is really a tough regimen. It can be done, but rarely for life, which is what BFL is all about. He is posting his weight every week. I think I’ll keep mine to myself; let him get complacent that he is blowing everyone away.  Then sneak out of the pack on judgement day and blow him and the other guys away.

Just leave the Opus X’s at the door on your way out gents lol.
