On Friday, I received an email from Microsoft… asking me to be a Staff member for TechEd 2008. I am so far beyond excited and humbled by this, I can’t even explain. This is a huge honor. TechEd is one of the largest IT conventions in the World afaik. To even attend it would be amazing. To be a Staff member… is still incomprehensible to me!
Then today, I received my email stating that I have been awarded as a Microsoft MVP for a third year! Being an MVP over the past few years has meant a lot to me. This is given based on volunteer work that I do on various computer help forums, such as GeeksToGo. Even though it may be “old hat” by now… it’s still exciting as hell to be re-awarded.
Speaking of MVP… I leave here on April 8th to begin my drive to Seattle! I will be spending the day with Chris and Ponzi on the 12th… so watch for me on the stream! Then I will be attending the MVP Summit the following week, hobknobbing with tons of people I’ve only “met” online thus far… some of the biggest geniuses on the planet… and excellent friends. It’s going to be an amazing time, and I cannot wait to get on the road!

I’d keep it to myself if I had any connection to M$ considering the poor quality of their code.

Congrats Kat!!! But.. you couldn’t pick a worse day to spend with Chris and Ponzi! That’s the biggest holiday in Louisville (besides the KY Derby) Thunder over Louisville! jk. I’ll be in and out that day, hopefully more in than out. Anyway, congrats and keep up the EXCELLENT work!
