Talk about impressive. Apple never ceases to amaze me. They have created a new product that will nestle in quite nicely with big brothers - MacBook and MacBook Pro. Announced today at Macworld is the arrival of the world’s thinnest notebook, the MacBook Air. At an unprecedented 0.8 inch thin, backlit full size keyboard, LED backlit 13.3 inch display, this baby is sleek and sexy. It looks like a piece of hardware found within the flying vessel in the movie, The Navigator, or a MacBook Pro that has followed through with it’s New Year resolution to lose a couple of pounds via Jenny Craig. I mean, how can a laptop get any smaller before compromising its durability?
It does not, however, have an optical drive, an important component that was deleted from the list of ooohs and ahhhs, in order to accommodate the aggressive engineering specs (the thinness, duh). No worries, Apple states that you can load software by using the optional external optical drive, reminiscent of the 1st generation macs (kicking it old school) or by using a wireless communication feature called Remote Disc, which uses another computer’s DVD/CD drive to load apps. OMG, what about DVDs? Not to worry, Apple has your back…..I mean their hand in your back pocket…..no wait I mean, iTunes - yeah itunes is the solution. Spend more money with Apple! You can get your movies from iTunes. No need to carry around DVDs.
All things considered, I think that Apple is an incredible company with the most exciting products to boot, but I do feel like it tries to make everything loop back into iTunes, which annoys the hell out of me.
Hiiiiii Yah!

The fact that this cute and sexy new laptop has no external drive is insane… these days we need laptops to perform or outperform desktops… this is not it! Sorry Steve!
