CNN spotlighted Jonathan Goodwin - an environmental automotive converter in Wichita, Kansas. He takes apart fuel INEFFICIENT vehicles, such as large SUV’s like the Escalade, Avalanche, Tahoes, Hummers, etc. and replaces their engine with a “green” biodiesel ready engine - doubling their fuel efficiency, and horsepower. While this service is not for every budget, at least we know that this service is available. Those with the money, that are attached to their classic cars - like musician/songwriter Neil Young, can upgrade their prized possession to this new available technology and dramatically increase the fuel economy and reduce the belching emissions of these older vehicles.

Now I know that there are many different opinions out there in regards to what is good for our planet - So I am not trying to stir up a debate…I just thought it was cool that this option is out there. Plus, its pretty neat seeing an Escalade going from 450 horsepower to 1000 horsepower as shown in the first segment of the video, while being “green” at the same time.

The sub heading of this article entitled - Motorhead Messiah, states: Jonathan Goodwin can get 100 mpg out of a Lincoln Continental (Neil Young’s classic), cut emissions by 80%, and double the horsepower. Does the car business have the guts to follow him…..When the last part of the subheading - I just had to answer. No, I do not believe that the car industry will follow him due to associated costs and the fact that the car industry as it stands now is reliant upon the oil/gas business. Do you honestly think the car industry is going to slap Ol Big Oil in the face? Somebody’s palms are getting greased to slow production of fuel efficient technologies because piggly faced execs need their 5 houses, 2 yachts, 10 different European cars, etc. to live comfortably.
